Our Process

How Treatment Works

Intake Assessment

After a complimentary phone consultation, your Intake Assessment will be scheduled. We utilize both subjective and objective clinical measures, along with the scientific literature and clinical expertise to fully comprehend all aspects of your context and symptoms before collaborating with you on the treatment plan.

Treatment Planning

You are the best consultant on you. We’ll be working alongside you from the very beginning, describing our goals for your treatment and checking with you to see if it makes sense. Everyone is different, and treatment plans are tailored to each client, but they will be evidence-based, determined by your symptoms and diagnosis and what treatment approaches the literature says have good outcomes. Length of treatment can vary depending on client preferences, symptom response, and treatment goals.

“Third Wave” Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – ACT helps you break free from unhelpful thoughts and emotions by building psychological flexibility, using mindfulness and values-based actions to create a meaningful life.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – DBT teaches skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and navigate distress with greater balance through mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) – MBCT combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy to help you recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns, reducing stress and preventing relapse into anxiety or depression.
  • Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) – ERP is an evidence-based treatment for OCD and related anxiety disorders, where you’ll gradually face feared thoughts or situations while resisting rituals or compulsive responses. This process helps retrain your brain, reducing anxiety over time and empowering you to reclaim your life.
  • ACT-informed ERP – We integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with ERP to enhance your therapy experience. This combined approach uses mindfulness and acceptance strategies to help you willingly face anxiety-provoking situations, promoting greater psychological flexibility and creating lasting behavioral change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance & Fees

I am an Out-of-Network (OON) provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, many insurance plans offer out-of-network reimbursement for therapy services. I can provide you with a superbill (a detailed invoice) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

If you’re unsure about your benefits, you can call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?
  • Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
  • How do I submit a claim for reimbursement?

My session fees range from $200 to $400 depending on the length of service and the type of service. Typical fees are listed below:

  • Initial Intake Session (60 minutes): $300
  • Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $275
  • Extended Sessions (80 minutes): $400

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept [credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and other payment methods].

I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, please reach out to discuss options or referrals to lower-cost providers.

Under the No Surprises Act, by law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost from providers who don’t bill insurance. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

About Therapy & The Process

We specialize in Third Wave (Mindfulness-Based) approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). We also utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, anxiety disorders, and related concerns. Our approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. We provide comprehensive grief counseling in Framingham MA and support for a wide range of mental health concerns.

Therapy is highly individualized. Some clients see improvement in a couple of months, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We will regularly assess progress and adjust our work accordingly.

The first session is a comprehensive intake where we’ll explore your history, current challenges, and therapy goals. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether we’re a good fit.

Exposure therapy involves intentionally and gradually approaching situations or thoughts you’ve been avoiding, while practicing mindfulness and acceptance skills. Rather than fighting anxiety or fear, ACT-informed ERP helps you become more open to these difficult feelings, making choices guided by your personal values. While you might initially feel uncomfortable, you’ll learn to relate differently to anxiety, empowering you to move forward in ways that truly matter to you.

Most clients start with weekly sessions. Over time, depending on your progress and needs, we may shift to biweekly or less frequent check-ins.

That’s completely understandable. We offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and help you decide if therapy with me is the right fit.

Logistics & Policies

Yes! We offer telehealth sessions for clients located in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Virtual sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, making it easy for Framingham residents to access quality mental health care from home.

I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged the full session fee.

You can schedule a consultation or an initial appointment by calling, emailing, or completing the contact form. I look forward to connecting with you!
